Amritakripa and Robbi will be performing at the Chuckwalla Fest '06!
Thomas and Amara Alban (Thomas will be part of Tribe After Tribe live crew for the May / June concerts) will join Kripa and
Robbi and perform as 'Butter Thief'. Butter Thief was born from the freedom and love they've all found in the High Desert.
As a special treat, Butter Thief will be joined by Flame Fatale - fire dancer, Sara Munro.
Locally-based bands and performing and visual artists will come together on the evenings of June 9th, 10th and 11th, at Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace at its outdoor theatre (under a full Mojave moon) to support arts education in the Morongo Basin. High Desert Living Arts Center (HDLAC), a 501(c)(3) public benefit, is producing the annual-fundraising event – in its third year.

News from Robbi:
Hurricane support news
Our neighbors in the desert went down to New Orleans to help. After a couple of days they called us and reported that the conditions in Baton Rouge were very poor with little or no help getting through. It seemed thousands of people were being escorted out of New Orleans and being dumped on the side of the highway with nowhere to go! A short while later our same neighbors called to let us know about a community center, The Delmont Services Center, who were receiving many people in need but they had no food, clothes or financial support with which to help the people. We called and spoke to Julie Newman, the Director of the Center and she gave us an update on how they were trying their best to help but actually felt a little helpless. She e-mailed a list of things they had an immediate need for, we circulated it to some of our friends who circulated it to some of their friends and we passed the details along to Br. Dayamrita at Amma's organization in America. Within a few days Br. Dayamrita made a tour of the hurricane area and visited the center, the ashram sent boxes of donated goods, friends from all over the country sent clothes, food and toiletries etc. Today when we spoke to Julie she reported that things have improved considerably – they have received many boxes and have been able to set up a distribution center. They have received some government money with which they are able to employ displaced persons from New Orleans and they are now a hive of helpful activity. Mark, the coordinator of Louisiana's Amma Satsang has visited Julie and is helping to organize local volunteer support. Arathi from Amma's ashram is looking for creative ways to be of help over the long term. Julie says that they are hoping soon to be able to offer medical services and trauma support. If anyone out there can help with these endeavors please let us know.
May all beings be peaceful ...

On Sunday night sept 25th Amritakripa played a beautiful set at the Institute for Mentalphysics in Joshua Tree.
Robbi followed with a guided meditation to transporting everyone to an awareness of the all the worlds that exists
along side us. In an extension of the meditation they closed with the peace prayer, Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu -
108 times - May all of the beings in all of the worlds be peaceful and happy
. A feeling of spirtual upliftment
filled the room and everyone was noticably blissed out. The organizers and the audience were so pleased with the
event that they have asked her to do the last Sunday night of every month.

Thanks everyone for coming on Saturday night and supporting the wonderful fundraiser. Thanks to all of the invisible supporters too! Special thanks to Sura and the Temple Bhajan Band, the members of Dances of Universal Peace and Omar for the poetry. Also for all of the people who helped create such a wonderful Temple space - the altar, the food, Rocky and the sound system, Stanley for the lighting, the music, the dancing, the Goddess clothes, the boutique and all of the organization that went in behind the scenes. Gopi and Shashi were adding up this morning and it seems that over $9000 was generated thanks to some generous donations. Wow!!! As Shashi said, "that was a day well lived".
What a great honor it is for us to play in support of Amma's charities and know that we will be able to pay for the building of at least 10 houses because of everyone's generosity!
Let's do it again soon. Peace,
Amritakripa

The 21st of September marks the 22nd Annual International Day of Peace. This year, the day's organisers have asked Amma to participate, and She has agreed. It is the hope of the organisers that the day will find millions of people from all faiths observing a 24-hour peace vigil and a collective minute of silence. People worldwide are planning to offer prayers, ceremonies, fasts and other spiritual observations in this unified effort.
This global 24-hour spiritual observation is meant to demonstrate the power of prayer and other spiritual practices in promoting peace and preventing violent conflict. It will also help raise public awareness of the International Day of Peace and directly support the establishment of this day as one of global ceasefire, as it has already been declared by the United Nations. On Tuesday, 7th September, at the end of the usual question-and-answer session with the ashramites, Amma gave a short but moving message on the importance of enhancing our efforts for world peace and participating in the International Day of Peace.
Amma said,
"We have seen how the world situation has been bad for quite some time, and we have seen incidents of violence all over the world--in the United States, India, Malaysia, Iraq, Israel, Spain, Japan, and most recently the attack in Russia. It was immensely painful to see innocent children become victims of terrorist activities.
There are many organisations, such as the United Nations, working for peace around the world, and their efforts are very valuable. However, Amma feels that over and above all these efforts, divine help is essential. Through our sincere prayers and earnest effort, we can invoke the grace of God, the Universal Consciousness, which will bring some relief to the present situation."
Amma has asked all Her children to participate in the collective minute of silence and prayer at 12:00 noon (your local time) on 21st September. Amma said,
"It doesn't matter where you are--whether at work, at home, traveling, or even in the bathroom--you can participate in this prayer. Just stop whatever you are doing at that time and spend one minute praying for the peace of the world. We should encourage as many people as possible to take part in this prayer."
